Rifts: Promise of Power
Soldiers of the Coalition
Coalition Soldiers are known as “Dead Boys” due to their skull-faced helmets and skeleton-like armor, as well as for the Coalition’s tendency to throw them in waves against enemies. The standard Coalition infantry soldier wears environmentally sealed armor, black and intimidating.
The typical Dead Boy is from the lower classes of the Coalition, someone for whom membership in the military is their only path out of poverty. Some believe wholeheartedly in the Coalition’s propaganda and regard themselves as the only line of defense between humanity and evil, while others regard their service as just a job that they can’t wait to be done with. Enlistment in the Coalition armed forces is typically for five-year terms, though this can be extended in times of war or crisis.
